Medical Ethics Today: What the Bible says about current healthcare issues
Exploring Healthcare Dilemmas Together

Mackenzie's Blog
Hello everyone! My name is Mackenzie, and I am a Junior Biology major at Baylor University. I am Pre-Health, and I greatly enjoy discussing and contemplating different medical ethics dilemmas. In this blog, I will be analyzing Five Days at Memorial, by Sheri Fink. An incredibly brief synopsis: Memorial Hospital gets ravaged by Hurricane Katrina, and the medical professionals must make incredibly difficult medical decisions regarding the lives of their patients in the wake of the storm. I will analyze this book in a biblical perspective, and I will attempt to draw parallels from the Old and New Testament. Happy reading!

Why I chose my book
I chose Five Days at Memorial because I wanted to analyze a book that aligns with my interest in pursuing a career in the medical field. Lately, I’ve become particularly fascinated by how ethics shape the medical profession. I believed this book would provide valuable insight, as it examines how ethical and moral principles are applied—or challenged—during emergency situations.
